Girls really look forward to have their dream wedding. One time I've read a blog post regarding the cost of getting married in the Philippines. What??? I find it overwhelming to spend a lot for weddings alone considering there are some finances that lie ahead. I've been married nearly 16 months and the expenses is way different between single and married life. Even if you can afford all the cost, I think it's still wise to spend a "just right" amount.
Of course weddings are meant to be beautiful. In fact it's possible to have a great but cost effective wedding. The list really goes on and on if you are preparing for the big day. So planning is really a must. Cut the cost as much as you can like what we did. Haha! If you have a budget of let's say 100,000 just be sure you still have that same amount in your bank. Just my own opinion though.
Allow me to share "how resourceful" we are. :P Everything can just be so simple yet you'll love it. You may not believe it, but we only spent three weeks preparation. At some point you have to break with traditions and have the wedding your way.

What is the goal of money for you?
My FB wall is recently flooded with posts of people going crazy over iPhone6. I think there's nothing wrong wanting things if you can really afford it. By saying so, what I mean is that you don't have to go through debt just to have it or gamble your savings until you are left with none just to have it. If you have savings and emergency funds and still have extra money go grab it. But don't save every penny you have just to stay with the fad. In my case even if I can afford it, I will still not buy one. Haha!

Cookies&Cream
Because home made ice cream can easily be made like 1-2-3. And of course it's cheaper compared to the ones bought from the supermarket. I was able to make two containers of ice cream by spending more than a hundred only.

Urban Farming Made Possible
In our church we have the Self Reliance Services. There are programs prepared to equip members with the knowledge and skills to be self reliant. Recently we have this activity on Urban Farming. A member from our stake who has background in agriculture conducted a workshop on preparing organic fertilizers and tips on gardening.
My husband and I started our garden at home. The dilemma we had was ---- we don't have space for gardening considering the we live in an apartment. Luckily, the husband had bright ideas (as always) and he was able to think of ways to make use of empty soda plastic containers and hang them in our gate.

Personalized Notebooks
Butch and I had been contemplating of starting a small business. He named it Simple Things Office and School Supplies and I agreed. :D It's fulfilling to have started with these personalized notebooks for members of the Church. Butch designed the cover. Such an awesome husband! We never expected that we can go as far as Luzon and Mindanao for our market. Indeed by from simple things we can achieve something great. We just used our savings to invest in this business and it's worth a try. :)

Since I moved in Molo 1st ward I learned a lot of new skills in our Relief Society. We had an activity make chorizo and tocino. Butch and I made our own chorizo. Yey! Namnam! It's easy to make and we can save a good amount compared to buying ready made products in the grocery store.

My Mini Sewing Machine
I admire my mother because she is good in everything. She can even do men's work like making improvised extension cord etc. She is a good cook and she can sew too. I must admit I didn't give much time to develop some home making skills while I was young. As long as I have good grades, I'm good. Well, since things have changed and I am at home most of the time, it's time to try new skills. Still hopeful that one day I can sew a perfect dress by myself.

Save Your Kisses
This photo was actually taken during our prenup. Butch just edited it for our own MormonAd version. It's in a kitchen and there's garlic on our forehead. At the bottom there's a quote from President Kimball which says, "what do kisses mean when given out like pretzels....?" In our world today moral issues can be heard almost everywhere. What's not so pleasing seems to become a norm. But we have this so called standards in the Strength of Youth pamphlet in our church.

My WorkPlace
One of the blessings I have is my homebased job. Cleaned up and decorated my work place today. I found lots of Mormonads in my stuffs so I used them to make the room colorful. And I also get some good reminders to make my day fruitful. :)

Imagining
I am home alone when Butch is on his duties so many things just pop in my mind. Like what will our children look like? Our future little Butch will probably look like my Bubutch! Haha! :D

Oh Books!
Last week Butch and I were scanning some photos in Pinterest on books and bookshelves. I really dreamed of a house with a library in it. I just love books. Fortunately, I am married to a man who is a book lover too. Each month he buys books and I so love them. It just brings excitement and spark in my eyes each time the word book rings in my ears. :D
We've been together 7 months already and I guess we need another bookshelf! Way to go for more books!
